The invitation design process

  • 1. Getting to Know You

    We offer a full array of wedding stationery options, including — but certainly not limited to! — save the dates, wedding invitation suites and details cards, and day-of paperie (such as escort cards, place cards, menus, and branded cocktail napkins, drinkware, and matchbooks).

  • 2. Proposal

    Drawing upon our conversation, we’ll then create your custom proposal, including anticipated costs, scope, and timeline. A signed contract and paid retainer (determined by project scope) is required to book Adara Meyers Calligraphy and begin the design process.

  • 3. Conceptualize

    We’ll begin our collaborative and energizing design process by discussing all the fun, exciting details: calligraphy style, overall design and aesthetics, wording and etiquette, and finishes such as ribbons and wax seals. We then draft and present initial concepts within 2–4 weeks (timeline varies depending on scope).

  • 4. Design

    After you select a concept, we’ll continue to revise and present accurate mock-ups with each round of revision. We offer unlimited revision rounds in order to arrive at the stunning design that speaks exactly to who you are and what you envision.

  • 5. Produce

    When the final design is confirmed, we’ll send you proofs for confirmation. Once every detail is finalized and proofs are approved, we begin production with the highest-caliber printshops.

  • 6. Finishing Touches

    After your wedding invitations are printed and shipped back to our studio, we assemble, address, and mail them to your guests. Additionally, you’ll receive a keepsake suite, and your photographer will receive a wedding-day suite.

The fine print (literally)

  • Once the 50% retainer is paid and the contract is signed, you’re officially on my calendar! 

  • I know there’s no replacement for the tangible! When we begin our work together, I’m happy to meet in person (Boston-area only) or I can send you samples of my work so you can get a true sense of paper and print types. 

  • No. As a full-service wedding invitation designer, I handle print production and quality control.
